Shared workspace

An expense tracker for couples, families, and small teams.

Tapsayve's shared workspace is one ledger everyone logs to — from their own phone, by voice or receipt. Perfect as a family budget app for households, and as a small business expense tracker for teams of up to six.

What's inside

Everything a shared workspace needs, nothing it doesn't.

One ledger, everyone logs

Add up to five people to a shared workspace. Whoever spends logs the expense — from their own phone, in seconds — and the total is always current for everyone.

Voice + receipt entry, for everyone

Every member gets the full Tapsayve toolkit: voice expense entry in 30+ languages, AI receipt scanning, automatic categorization. No one has to be the household bookkeeper.

Splits and settlements built in

Splitting rent, groceries, or client dinners? Log the total, split it evenly or by percentage, and the running balance tells you who owes whom. No settle-up spreadsheet required.

Shared budget with alerts

Set one monthly budget for the whole workspace. Alerts fire at 75%, 90%, and 100% so nobody spends past the target unnoticed. Works as a family budget app or a team ops budget.

Roles that keep it simple

The workspace owner manages membership and settings; members log and view. No permission matrix, no confusing admin panel — just add people by email and they're in.

Tax + close-out exports

At the end of the month, project, or tax year, export the workspace as a clean CSV or PDF. Every entry is stamped with who logged it, so accountants and audits stay easy.

Three ways people share

Couples, families, small teams — same tool.

For couples

The expense tracker for couples that isn't a spreadsheet

Move in together, plan a wedding, or manage a household on two incomes without opening a shared Google Sheet every night. Both of you log by voice as you spend; the running total sits in one place for the money conversation on Sunday.

For families

A family budget app that everyone can use

Add parents, adult kids, or a housekeeper to the workspace. Everyone logs expenses to the family total from their own phone. Great for tracking groceries, kids' activities, and the mortgage in one place — without linking bank accounts.

For small business teams

A small business expense tracker for up to five people

Consultants, agencies, and small partnerships share a workspace to track client lunches, travel, and operating costs. Each teammate logs on the go; you export a clean tax-ready CSV at month-end. A lightweight business expense tracker without the accounting-seat pricing.

Alternative approach

You don't need a joint account for shared expenses.

The classic answer for tracking household or team spending is a joint bank account. It works, but it's a big commitment: paperwork at the bank, moving your money into one pot, and losing visibility into individual spending.

A Tapsayve shared workspace gets you the visibility without the money-move. Everyone keeps their own accounts, everyone logs what they spent, and the workspace shows the combined picture in real time. Use it standalone, or alongside an actual joint account for the bills you already split there — you decide.

FAQ

Shared workspace, answered

How is this different from a joint account for shared expenses?

A joint account for shared expenses puts your money in one place. A Tapsayve shared workspace tracks WHO SPENT WHAT — regardless of which account it came from. That means you don't need to move money into a joint account to see a family or couple's total, and you don't lose visibility into individual spending. Many households use both: joint account for common bills, Tapsayve shared workspace to see everything at a glance.

How many people can join a shared workspace?

The workspace owner plus five invited members on Premium (six total), plus three invited on Pro (four total), or one on Lite (two total). Starter accounts don't include shared workspaces. It's designed for couples, immediate families, and small business teams — not company-wide adoption.

Does each member need their own paid plan?

No. The workspace owner pays for the plan; invited members can be on the free Starter tier and still join. Members log to the shared workspace using their own personal monthly quotas (voice, receipts, chats) — those quotas are tied to each member's own tier, not the owner's. In practice, this means an invitee can join and log a moderate amount for free.

Can I use it as a family budget app for kids?

Yes — a family budget app is one of the most common uses. Add adult kids so they log their contributions to shared bills, or use it purely between spouses. We recommend keeping the workspace to household members you trust with the full ledger; expenses in a workspace are visible to every member.

Do the family and small-business use cases share the same features?

Yes. Whether you use the shared workspace as a family expense tracker or as a small business expense tracker, you get the same feature set — voice entry, AI receipt scanning, splits/settlements, shared budget, and exports. The only thing that changes is what you call your categories and who you invite.

Can I switch between my personal and shared workspaces?

Yes. Every account has a Personal scope (your own private ledger) and can optionally have one shared workspace. The switcher at the top of the app toggles between them so you can log to the right scope without mixing personal spending into the family or business total.
